Long ago, butterflies worked closely with fairies to send messages from the mythical world to ours. Now with a network so vast, the butterflies have taken to helping humans send messages to each other all around the world!
Concept Design for Butterfly Post Kiosk
For this project I was tasked with creating a kiosk that could educate on and alleviate an issue in the world. With the rise of email and private shipping services, the United States Postal Service has taken a hit with consistently lower stamp and parcel sales each year. Additionally many children and adults in the US don’t know how to correctly address mail which creates a disconnect with older relatives living far away without the same tech literacy. Butterfly Post aims to alleviate these issues by creating a highly approachable kiosk that walks guests through the process of addressing and sending postcards through the USPS system.
Guests first walk up to the postcard kiosk where they may choose from a wide array of seasonal postcard designs for purchase. They then have the option to fill it out with the Butterfly Postmaster or independently at the self service kiosk. With the Butterfly Postmaster, guests slide the postcard into a tablet and fill it out on the screen; the postcard comes out with the address printed on t. Guests then drop it in the mailbox.
